On nearly 20 hectares, the city of Châtenay-Malabry is building a mixed eco-district on the site of the historic Ecole Centrale Paris.
Enhancing the city's entrance and functional mix, linking the new district to the surrounding urban fabric, developing urban agriculture at the heart of a low-carbon district characterised by the circular economy and promoting a qualitative green environment preserving the biodiversity already present in the municipality are the strong ambitions for this district.
The challenges :
- To develop a low-carbon district (creation of an urban heating network, use of bio-sourced materials, favouring soft travel, use of recycled concrete from the old school buildings)
- Promoting the circular economy (areas dedicated to urban agriculture, local production for short circuits)
- Enhance biodiversity (rainwater management, green grid)
