The total surface area of the ground floor and each of the levels added together, assessed from the outside of the facade walls.
However :
Roofs forming terraces are not counted;
Balconies, loggias, terraces, attics, laundry rooms, garages, cellars and basements not converted into living quarters, offices or workshops are only taken into account for 50% of their surface area.
