BBC (Low Energy Building)
The BBC standard defines the level of performance required by the BBC (Bâtiment Basse Consommation) label. The aim is to reduce the energy consumption of buildings, which accounts for a considerable proportion of greenhouse gas emissions.
The maximum energy consumption for new buildings is set at 50kWh/m2/year.
The measurement is based on 5 criteria: heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic hot water and heating and lighting auxiliaries. The measurement is then weighted by a coefficient according to the climatic zone and altitude.
